iGoogle is up and running and added the required tools. Its handy to have all these things like Googledocs in the one area; very convenient.

Found a podcast of guitar lessons and theory through PodcastAlley and added it to Googlereader. Very easy. I have now watched a bit and are looking for other types of podcasts on other topics…..
15. Google book search and scholar September 26, 2008

Geetarboy is very familiar with this one.
Use googlescholar on a regular basis for my work. I always search scholar to track the availability of certain articles or to check references.
Booksearch is a nifty little tool I use to peek inside books I am interested in – most only contain a portion that the author has allowed. The complete books here are public domain titles, classics, stuff thats too long to read anyway.

Created a delicious account. Convenient tool – but WordPress just has a plain old link which I have titled Bookmarks.
14. Google docs September 26, 2008

Great tool this. Just like the other web applications we have looked at like Flickr, this is a place to store documents.
Newmunch and I sent each other some documents as a test. It sends documents to people you select through email with the doc as an attachment.
Handy tool.

Included a blog feed – this is getting easier.
10. Add some subscriptions September 25, 2008

Added Digg and VU Library feed on new items at STA.
Digg? Well…… most of the content I found trite, useless; just ‘cos its popular doesn’t mean this sheep is joining the flock enthusiastically; thats my opinion. I mean, with stuff like this, come on…. -
Halo Energy Sword Replica with Steel Color-Shifting Blades
nerdapproved.com — Now you can go after your friends with your own Covenant Energy Sword and hopefully they will pull a “Bull True” and not get sliced in half. Sound effects will still need to be homemade.
The Vu feed on the other hand is way more useful and more interesting to boot.
No. 9 Set up a feed reader. September 25, 2008

Set up GoogleReader – remarkably easy. Subscribed to feeds from ABC News, BBC News and Guitar Effects News from Harmony Central.
Great tool – can get feeds to keep up with major points of interest, both professionally and personally, trawl through and read the info you need or are interested in! I have arranged folders for the content – Music, News etc
5/6. Flickr and mashups September 15, 2008

Well, I checked out Flickr and have worked out that it is similar to say Youtube. Photos can be loaded on, edited with software like a Photoshop program, then organised so you can either view them privately or share them with the world. Tags are necessary because they act as search terms, and these will allow the user to search for them efficiently, or find more of the same.
An interesting feature of Flickr allows you to edit your photo, take out redeye etc., and format them for printing out lots of cool things like calendars.
Geetarboy’s conclusion: quite a cool tool because you can store your photos in a relatively safe place, they are stored in a place where you will always be able to access them. MASHUPS – you can use other software through the site to edit photos, reduce redeye, effects etc; you can label items inside the photo; attach a map through GoogleEarth that shows where that photo was taken; and blog the photos or join groups with similar interests. You can also format the photos for printing on calendars, cubes, books etc.
Verdict: Although I don’t have an account, the editing mashup tools like Picnic were quite easy to work out and navigate.
But I find that I have absolutely no need to ‘leave a comment’ under someone’s photo; or share mine with the world for that matter. If I had an active interest in photography? Even then I’d be hard pressed to be bothered ‘networking’ with other users on this site.
I found this picture ‘interesting’.
